How can this happen? Was I born to fail? Am I paying for a previous sin in a past life? There must be an answer to my poor performance. Even with teacher guidance, the most I'm capable of is a low B? I finished. I'm beating. Sometimes you do your best and your best isn't good enough. I will not be judged for my unemotional poetry and I will not receive a lower grade for the amount of work I do. I didn't take a single accelerated English or AP course for the rest of high school. Why should I work hard to get a B when I can get an A in plain English. For the rest of high school my writing remained at exactly the same level as in 9th grade
