Power can be simply defined as control over resources. This control allows individuals to make changes. The influence of power typically has a negative impact on individuals. It has also been said that “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Typically, when an individual gains power, they tend to be less inhibited and act more based on their personal desires, ignoring what is ethically right. Individuals often lose sight of their own morals in an attempt to gain more power and exploit other people.
