What I mostly said up there was "thank you." I felt like I needed to thank him for being in my life when he didn't have to, I needed to thank him for the good memories, for genuinely caring about me and treating me like his own and for letting him know that I'm grateful for the time he spent and for the memories he gave me during his time here.
