JK Rowling says: “Poverty involves fear, stress and sometimes depression. He encounters a thousand small humiliations and difficulties. To rise out of poverty by one's own efforts is something to be proud of, but poverty itself is romanticized by fools” (Rowling). Ms Rowling made a great point, poverty is a common usage and without considering what it really means; for those who grew up in poverty, it's not something taken so lightly. As easily as word spreads, poverty is multidimensional and implicated. For many, the definition of poverty means the absence or lack of money, while for some it can mean “the state of someone who does not have a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material goods” (Encyclopedia Britannica). Both of these definitions are considered correct but the word implies more than the latter definitions, poverty can have a deeper meaning that extends to different aspects of human life; today we will examine how separate entities define poverty and build on those definitions.
