A tiger mother usually thinks she knows what's best for her child. This is why some tiger moms can lead to abuse of their children. Even if you have a tiger mom you will most likely grow up to show respect when respect is needed. You will respect your elders and listen to them when expected. For example, Chua tells us how she was called trash for talking back to her mother. To succeed and thrive in most places requires respect for yourself and others. For example, if you were looking for a job and you didn't respect any of the workers, you most likely won't get that job. With this thought in mind, Hanna Rosin wrote an article, Mother Inferior, in which she presented several instances of discrepancy between Chua's parenting techniques and her own. He explains why he believes Chua is wrong and doesn't fit the stereotype of the "Western" parent. Rosin states that, in Chua's mind, he is a pathetic, weak-willed Western parent (Rosin 309). He states that: “The most important thing is that I don't have it in me. I just don't have the crazy desire to do it” (Rosin 310). Instead, he enjoys the time he spends with his children and ensures that his children have a virtuous life
