Everyone can still learn their native language, but they also need to learn the other language, so that people can talk to non-native people and be able to respond. People might point out how difficult it would be to let people decide on just one language. Yes, this would be a big problem, but the language should be the written and spoken one as when Mcwhorter says: “Japanese is hallowed not only as the language of speech but also of education, literature and journalism…” (434). He is saying that this language will exist "as long as there are Japanese people meeting and raising children in Japan" (Mcwhorter 434). There are many people who speak it, it is written and spoken, that's why it won't die soon. If people still don't agree, then the United Nations could meet and decide for everyone. Any language would be difficult to learn, according to Mcwhorter that “Every language is difficult in its own way” (433). The younger you learn the language, the easier it will be to learn it because it is easier for a child to learn a language than someone who is learning it.
