Respect came quickly for me, I lived in a bad neighborhood where saying the wrong thing or talking to someone the wrong way could hurt you. I always remain calm with everyone and treat them how I like to be treated. I also never wanted to be hurt or picked on for disrespect. Just because I showed respect for these people didn't mean I always had it for them, most of the time it was just to stay out of trouble and not have to deal with petty lives. Common sense was another great principle that helped me, not all children understand what having common sense really means. Others thought I was very mature and very in control. When in reality all I had was common sense, staying calm and not speaking up or being too rowdy didn't have much to do with my maturity. You just never want unwanted attention or unnecessary eyes on you. This stemmed from never wanting to get anyone around me in trouble, whether it was brother, mom, sister or just the people in bed who were always
