The seconds dwindle until the contestant overcomes her fear of verbalizing her thoughts and proudly opens her clenched jaw to reveal the correct answer. This change over a period of time symbolizes the transition from realist to romantic thinker, who is not afraid to separate himself from the uniform and brainwashed world of individuals attempting to say what needs to be said. One such individual is Todd Anderson, a young scholar who attends Welton Academy in the film Dead Poets Society.
