Every individual is different Society, schools and students are becoming more and more diverse every day. We have brought people into space and to the moon through major scientific and technological discoveries. We went from making computers so large that only one could fit in a single room, to making them small enough to fit in your lap. Being a teacher is as difficult as being a scientist. A teacher in today's classroom must be able to prepare our students for an ever-changing world and teach them how to survive in it. They must be able to teach students a core curriculum, ready to use and expand it, and show them how it will be relevant to their daily lives. Every day brings a new change and a successful teacher must be ready to accept these changes and bring them into the classroom. I firmly believe in progressivism. I believe that when John Dewey taught that we are social animals who learn well through increases when we are engaged in activities that interest us, he was not just talking about the classrooms of his time, but also the classrooms of the future. Students need to be taken beyond the core curriculum and given the opportunity to expand their knowledge through their own interests. Students must be respected for their individuality. No two people learn the same way, and most students have their own learning strategy. Teachers must be able to recognize that sometimes a student can only learn one way and only that way. This is why we must compensate each student in the classroom to bring a variety of teaching styles to ensure we include every student. As educators, we need to find ways to make concepts interesting... middle of paper... ...lti curriculum, such as teaching professional technologies. A multiple curriculum gives us the ability to spark curiosity and push our students to a higher level of knowledge that is more relevant to each individual's life. Today's classrooms are more diverse than ever. A teacher must know that every student is different and has different learning and working abilities. As a future teacher aware of this need for individuality, I intend to bring a progressive philosophy into my classroom. I want to encourage all my students to learn and this can only be done through a variety of teaching techniques. I not only want to prepare my students for the future, but encourage them to expand their knowledge every day even after they finish school. By preparing my students for the future, I will prepare them for a lifelong learning experience.
