Salem is in ruins. People had to be hanged for no apparent reason. These things have a cause: a flawed and corrupt government. They had to die because they were innocent, for having tried to demonstrate what was actually authentic: that their guilt was undeserved. It was all Abigail's fault and you didn't always realize what was right in front of you. You saw her as a saint with a pure soul just because she said things you wanted to hear. It was all acting, and you were too blind to see! Do you really deserve to be a judge of “the highest court of the supreme government of this province” (page 79) if you can't tell right from wrong, if everyone is guilty? Who is just a little suspicious in your opinion? You don't even know the people of Salem who say, "Who is this?" (page 80) in front of the subjects to be prosecuted. It's scary that you wouldn't be able to recognize famous citizens like Giles Corey and John Proctor in such a small village! You say that those who know they are right will be treated well, that "no uncorrupt man need fear this court" (page 88), but the fear still persists, because you are one of the few who is corrupt! It is impossible to be incorrupt if you are judged by a corrupt government, because for them good is bad and vice versa. You are Manichean, because for you "a person is either with this court or against it" (page 85), which only underlines your primitive and dualistic discernment of issues. John Proctor is a man of God, he accepted the Gospel, religion as a whole and the theocratic nature of the community, but he did not come to church only because he disliked the minister Parris, who was a cold and ruthless man. He was the one who started it all... middle of paper... this illusion of yours. You are a lethal, idiotic man who did not deserve to rise to such a position of control in Salem! It was a bad choice of your father to give you his old job. You only had it because you had no one to give it to. It is said that children take behavior and habits from their parents, so I think your father was just as bad as you. God will punish you for your sins, you stone and spiritless monster. You never empathize, your work is simply work for you and the people you condemn are not people, just animals whose lives don't matter. This is all I have to tell you, and I can give you my main verdict: I accuse you of all the abominable things I have just told you about, and if you were an official I would imprison you for the rest of your life. May God judge you for all the disaster you have caused. You will definitely go to hell.
