In 2015 there were over 100 cases in which a police officer shot and killed an unarmed African American. Of these cases only ten resulted in an officer being charged, in only two of these ten cases was an officer incarcerated. Earlier this year, African Americans along with members of Black Lives Matter took to the streets and protested these unruly deaths, killing some police officers. I think there's a lot of evidence that this is a very serious social problem because of inequality. African Americans are treated differently than Caucasians. An African American wearing a sweatshirt with bulging pockets is believed to be dangerous. A Caucasian with the same description isn't looked at twice. People fear the unknown and Hollywood exploits that fear, most of the time the bad guys in movies are big black guys with deep pockets.
