I was fascinated by how a specific cancer forms and what factors lead to its onset. Interning at UHS made finding an oncologist to shadow me much easier since I was already familiar with the hospital. Following Dr. Khan is an experience I will never forget. Unsure of what to expect or what to do, I followed him as he saw his patients. We have seen patients with various diseases such as breast cancer, colon cancer, thrombocytopenia and hemophilia. I feared that his frank and honest attitude would be off-putting to his patients, old and new. However, every patient I met, during the six weeks I spent there, received their comments and suggestions warmly.
