The English language is something that has undergone changes over centuries and centuries. It has been changed in many different ways, such as the way it is written, the way it is spoken, and how it sounds when verbalized. Language is one of those things that will continue to change and even grow, due to new ideas that evolve. You might be able to make predictions about how the English language will evolve within the next 500 years. Some might make logical predictions from what is experienced today, while others might come up with a completely new idea out of thin air. Every prediction made is valid, because no one knows what the future will be like. People in the early years of language development would never have imagined that people would start using so many slang words as everyday vocabulary. For example; “Swag, YOLO and Gay” have been used frequently and have multiple meanings. Swag can be used as a noun, describing a person's attitude or physical appearance. It's almost become a personality trait or description. YOLO is an acronym meaning "You Only Live Once." The word YOLO is used right before someone tries something stupid. It is like a pardon for oneself to give them the right to act ignorantly, without judgment. Gay is a word that has evolved over time with its definition. It meant happiness and was a term of positivity. Now, in modern times, people use the word gay as an insult, calling something stupid or something like that. These are just a few examples of how the English language has already changed. Not only are words used that cannot be found in the English dictionary accompanied by a definition, but letters are used to form acronyms which a...... middle of paper ......ication the possible results cannot be excluded . People may no longer talk in person, or even through computers. We could have the microchip, it wouldn't take long for the government to implant the microchip in us, because we believe that they are the experts and everyone will follow what the authority says. Since everyone is implanted with a chip, all we have to do is think of someone and that person will have an immediate connection to what is going on in our heads. It's a little scary to think that, because not everyone will always have good thoughts. This could also lead to the breakdown of friendships and relationships, due to communication problems. There are numerous ideas about what the language will become. Some are more logical than others, but they are all valid within the range of possibilities.
