As Karin Klein stated, “by passing a fairly simple test of 10 multiple choice questions” (1), I managed to skip reading courses in English. Even though I don't have to take reading courses, since returning to my academics I realize how much I miss having free time to sit down and read a good book. Some of the textbooks I read while attending college are Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Business Management, Business Law, Human Sexuality, Lifespan Development, Nutrition, and countless other technical texts. In particular, the book I enjoyed reading the most is Wisdom of a Rainforest. The book focused on the tribe's traditions, beliefs, and practices versus the social beliefs of Western culture. I found the comparisons made in this book quite interesting and surprisingly similar in many ways to their respective cultures. I like to read, but I have no free personal time to read, so my reading is limited only to when it is required. However, I read proficiently and can quickly understand the reading material. However, I still believe that if I had attended school as a regular student, my reading exposure and practices could have been greater
