Topic > Energy Essay - 1736

Over the past few decades, geologists and scientists have determined that the Earth is running out of non-renewable resources, particularly those resources that provide us with the energy that powers economies, jobs and most of our world. especially our daily life. Without this energy, entire countries could collapse and the human race would struggle to survive. Therefore, it is safe to assume that we, as a nation, are entirely dependent on energy or the ability to work (Gale Science in Context). As a result, we are now actively seeking more efficient and cost-effective forms of energy to replace the ones we currently use. In this way we will help the earth by reducing carbon emissions and reducing air and water pollutants. Ultimately, this could prolong the life of our planet and save money and resources at the same time. While finding the best sources of energy may not necessarily be easy, there are many forms of energy to consider when determining which type would make the most sense to use based on our goals and parameters (such as finding a cost-effective source that is beneficial for the environment). As briefly mentioned above, energy is the ability to do work and can be observed in many forms throughout the universe. Each form of energy has unique characteristics, as well as a certain impact on our lives. Various forms of energy include chemical energy, electrical energy, light energy, nuclear energy, sound energy and thermal energy. While each of these forms of energy has unique properties, properties and uses and therefore work together to help power the world we live in. Chemical energy can be described as the energy released when substances undergo a chemical reaction...... middle of paper ......ce on foreign oil and other foreign resources. In summary, of the six forms of energy, our nation unfortunately depends heavily on electrical and chemical energy. Currently, many of our sources that provide us with these two types of energy are unreliable and non-renewable, as well as being very expensive. However, if the Environmental Protection Agency were to focus and allocate its two billion dollar budget to a form of energy such as chemical energy, as well as research cleaner and cheaper sources (such as grain biofuel) of this type of energy, their efforts would help reduce the effects of burning fossil fuels, reduce global warming, and indirectly provide a cheaper source of electricity for millions of Americans. This type of initiative would protect the Earth's resources and environment, while benefiting future generations of Americans.
