I came to this school after taking a series of courses at numerous educational institutions, always avoiding anything to do with English. My first English class taught me so much more about writing and language; it taught me how to use my words more effectively and efficiently, expressing my opinions and emotions. Here I learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself and how to find answers to things I don't know. Most importantly, I learned how important writing and language are on a professional and personal level. Additionally, the course also taught me how powerful the written word and language can be. It tells a lot more to the story. Stories tell about life, personal experiences and human emotions, they contain the past, present and future. When written correctly, stories express very fine details about individual events, making them much more personal and describing individual thoughts and points of view that could only be outlined in written words. Additionally, understanding the words and the context in which they were used makes reading more enjoyable and enjoyable
