Many people think they are two different struggles. Gays have always had rights because their sexual preference was not evident in the color of their skin. They always had the right to vote or sit anywhere on the bus. Another example of a difference is unfortunately during slavery, if an African American child was born, they were sold. For example, another important distinction between the two movements is that the LGBTQ Movement is more concerned with the acceptance of gender preferences and social behaviors, while the American Civil Rights Movement is concerned with fighting for the right to vote, integration and the end of racial discrimination and racial discrimination.
