They are a mixture of paranoia, hatred and ignorance, a perfect breeding ground for discrimination. Different ethnic or social groups accuse each other of being the cause of the war. Racial profiling is on the rise in airport security and typically targets Muslims. If the terrorist attacks had never happened, fear would no longer be able to blind people.
