Topic > My Personal Hunting Experience - 866

I was sitting at my stand and every noise bothered me because I wanted it to be a deer. Finally, my dad tapped me on the shoulder and I looked to my left. I could feel my eyes double in size as they bulged from their sockets. Sure enough, there was a young woodpecker standing alongside ready to be tackled. The adrenaline started pumping, my heart was pounding and I couldn't stop shaking. I raised the scope and told myself I needed to control the tremor if I wanted to kill my first deer. All I focused on was the thud of my heart and the deer. “Bang,” I had pulled the trigger. I turned my head hoping I had hit the target. The most breathtaking sight was when my peak took a step and passed out on the cold white ground now splattered with red. I had nailed it straight to the heart. From that moment on I knew my life had changed forever and even if I didn't have a deer in the future, the adrenaline of my first buck would keep me going through the years. Overall, my hunting experiences have been wonderful. Hunting may not be fun when I'm bored in the stand, freezing or melting in the heat, but as soon as I see the prize, everything becomes worth it.
