Free or very low-cost education is a widespread practice in Europe. Currently, there are 9 countries that offer higher education completely free. These countries believe that free education should be provided to all. However, from society's perspective, paying for individuals' education is unfair (1). University fees help increase the quality of studies (2) and positively influence students' personalities (3). This implies that we should pay for our university studies. From society's point of view it is not right to pay for higher education. All taxpayers have to cover the costs of the studies while only a minority obtain real benefits. According to calculations by Lithuanian economist Raimondas Kuodis, a person with a higher education diploma usually earns twice as much as a person without a diploma (Jackevičius, 2010).
