Imagine your child has cancer and you don't have the money to get treatment for him. But the last glimmer of hope comes from the donations that generous people are willing to donate money to help families who cannot afford treatment and donate to cancer research. You can become one of the generous people who are willing to give, who are willing to save a life. One non-profit organization is the Children's Cancer Research Foundation, which anyone can call and donate money. They research ways to prevent cancer, develop a diagnosis, treatments and a cure for childhood cancers. The foundation opened in 1981 and has revolutionized the way childhood cancer is treated around the world. Their research has led to innovative treatments, faster cures and new cancer discoveries. The childhood cancer foundation is asking anyone who is willing to donate money for research and to help parents who cannot pay for their children's treatment, that even the smallest amount can save a life. Children with cancer will most likely have to go away through a treatment called chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is a treatment that is very physically hard on the patient. So the doctors wanted to do research on the children to find ways to help them cope better with chemotherapy in the future. Chemotherapy is very important if you are trying to beat cancer (pacciulio 143). The pain and side effects of chemo will force the child to be hospitalized. Yet with chemo you never know if the treatment will be a failure or a success (pacciulio 143). Understanding how children cope with chemo and understanding chemo in general will help doctors find different ways to make treatments less traumatic. Donations help fund research... half of the paper ...all children have a second chance at a cancer-free life. The average person can donate money to foundations trying to find a cure for childhood cancer. If you can't afford to donate money, donate your time by volunteering at a children's cancer hospital to work with children and try to make their lives as pleasant as possible. So try not to be a person who looks the other way when a child desperately needs help, don't say “I couldn't do anything”, because there was. There are several ways to help children with cancer. But the best way to help is to simply give them time out of the day to say hello and play a game or two with them, the ways that make kids smile and forget about cancer for a couple of minutes. If enough people come together and donate money, doctors will surely find a cure for childhood cancer sooner or later.
