Introduction: Computerization along with the use of a wide range of other techniques has enabled the formation of the information age we currently live in; this time period is marked by the knowledge-based society that is enveloped by a high-tech economy whose reach spans the entire globe, using its powers of social influence to maintain dominance over humankind and to bring about further evolution of modern and technical technology. Man, through development over time, has given a breath of life to technology, allowing it to be looked at in the light of his own living system. Technology as a system, compared to the characteristics of life; it has different levels of organization, uses energy for maintenance and growth, responds to a given environment, adapts to its environment and produces further offspring. The missing feature of life is that the system is composed of cells, which can be explained if we consider the system using humans as the cells that make up this living system. Considering this vision of a living system, we can define the relationship between life and technology as that of two species evolving together. Technology, while claiming to be for the betterment of man, has brought many strains on humans as side effects. Technology is like a disease that has spread through civilizations, taking deep roots, leaving us satisfied by offering some improvements that the structure of society did not have before, also bringing with it many handicaps. This disease can be described using the concepts of symptoms, transmission and resistance. That said, technology can be labeled as having a symbiotic, yet parasitic, relationship with humankind by assuming that technology is not neutral… middle of paper… and exploiting it to our capabilities. After the three aspects of treatment I have provided, I believe the best combination is to use them all to increase understanding of technology before advancing further, while reducing dependence on technology and identifying and adapting to the artificial environment we currently find ourselves in , making humanity gain power over technology, while preventing society from being stuck without technology. The second path we could choose is to identify only the effects of our artificial environment to adapt, which will buy us time and hopefully the problem will correct itself or become easier to solve. I see no better options outlined so far, so I believe the best option that could save the technological machine and man is to focus on understanding technology to free man from slavery and put the reigns of life back in the hands of humanity..
