1.Communication I started this course not having a clear idea of what career I wanted to pursue for the rest of my life. I have often asked myself "What job will I do when I grow up?". Ever since I was little I thought I wanted to become a doctor. After studying biology, genetics and biochemistry, I quickly realized that majoring in biology was not for me. Then I changed my major to exercise science. I researched possible career choices for exercise science and became interested in physical therapy and physician assistant. I was still confused about my career choice, so I decided to enroll in a professional development course. I wanted to know what career might be best suited for me. My dad reminds me every day that I will be graduating in spring 2016. This makes me nervous and anxious. My family keeps asking me about my grades, internship opportunities, and post-graduation plans. I see my friends doing internships at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and other medical centers. Seeing my friends progress in their careers only pushes me to figure out my own career plans. I want to discover other careers that I would enjoy. I plan to research careers that interest me, talk to advisors, and use career center resources to my advantage. I expect to leave this course with a clear idea of my career and to set future goals to achieve. 2. Analysis I have learned that having a family is as important to me as having a secure job. I appreciate having flexible hours, working in a friendly environment, being treated as an equal and being able to grow within my company. Writing my autobiography helped me remember past experiences with my education and family. Past experiences with my education and family have sculpted my present and...... middle of paper ......eer at. In the next year I plan to have a position at a therapy practice and have clinical experience. Since I now know what occupation I want to pursue, it is easier for me to set and set goals. I plan to join the PT club so they can help me with graduate school choice and networking. I am currently satisfied with my academic performance. My family and friends support me in my life and career decisions. I can only continue to grow and learn from my mistakes. I am confident that I will achieve my long and short term goals and am satisfied with what I have accomplished. I am satisfied with my choice of specialization and occupation, now I need to gain experience and volunteer in a physiotherapy practice. It's hard to find an internship, but I will overcome this obstacle. I plan to network, become consistent, and find an internship within the next year.
