One approach is to impose harsher punishments on those who discriminate against another race. No matter skin tone, a human is a human. There is no need to degrade another individual based on their skin tone. Whatever the race, if they show respect and kindness they will get it in return. The vast majority of the US population can make this happen. Avoid racism as best you can. If this happens, we need to put a stop to this and stand up for whatever race is being discriminated against. As the United States Declaration of Independence states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” (www.ushistory.org). Every human being has gone through difficult times, just as every human being has gone through good times. As the quote says: “A smile is the same in every language.” Parents and peers need to stop putting discriminatory thoughts in the heads of young children. It is known that education is one of the major causes of racism. If you are not raised to be racist, racial discrimination will slowly end as past generations die. If the American people created a much more positive atmosphere, instead of degrading others and teaching others in this way, the American population could begin to grow together as one.
