The Macintosh offered a different kind of level that no other computer had ever achieved: it had icons. “Price-priced at $2,495, the Macintosh was the first affordable computer to offer graphical user interface, replacing older text-based operating systems with an intuitive layout of folders and icons.” (www.context.time.com) The Macintosh had a friendlier user interface, making using a computer easier than ever. Eventually, Apple introduces the iMac. The iMac made Internet computing simple and convenient. “With the introduction of the Internet, Steve believed that people would use their computers differently.” (Saddleback 18) With the introduction of the iMac, people were now able to actually use their personal computers by accessing websites, programs, and email. Now more and more people were able to use computers for work, education, research, and even entertainment.
