Recognizing the importance of nonprofits in my life is easy because of the unforgettable experiences I had at a local organization and the impression it left on my life. By taking part in a local non-profit organization, my mother and I were able to take a medical mission trip to Romania in 2006 and 2007. We simply decided to love and grow in a culture of people we knew nothing about, but yet we are still brought together by an amazing God and His mission for us as a people. By dedicating our time and love, we have also helped many in need with medical needs: measuring their blood pressure, addressing any problems they may have, and providing any medicines that may be needed. Through my experience, I have found that many non-profit organizations work to assist a multitude of injured individuals through various rescue methods and call upon the initiation of volunteers into action. Although countless individuals have faced negative issues while being a part of such an organization, it must be said that no one can truly understand the value of a non-profit organization that supports dedication to the people it can serve, through various methods that provide great relief. Throughout the existence of non-profit organizations, many have attempted to produce a greater variety of methods that they can use to amplify immediate relief. The respite methods that many nonprofit organizations excel at include: Providing physical, emotional, or medical care. I gained a sense of such forms of relief that a non-profit organization contributes to through my experiences with a local non-profit organization, CERT International (Christian Emergency Relief Teams). As an organization, it strives to “alleviate human labor and the livelihood it works to provide in an area of need. I had the fortunate opportunity to participate in that organization thanks to CERT International President Dr. Ken Daugherty and his deep desire to help and serve others. Knowing that through a donation, a helping hand at a volunteer event, or maybe even just a few kind words of encouragement to a neighbor, you can grow as a volunteer. While we know there are discrepancies within nonprofit organizations, as many work to acquire funds inappropriately and deceive their benefactors. Considering the good and the bad, it must be said that a tremendous amount of good can be done through a non-profit organization and its many volunteers. Many have dedicated their time, money and efforts in the act of relieving many from adversity, true??
