Will the teachings of Jesus Christ survive into the third millennium? Jesus emphasized the actions and teachings of God by using his life as an example of God's ways. He was an exact representation of God which also made him God. Jesus referenced the story of God in his teachings. He used the foundation of God's teachings that God had demonstrated through Adam, Abraham, and David. There were approximately 4000 years between the beginning of man until the time of the birth of Christ. So over the last 2000 years after Christ, the church has grown steadily. So, in total, this is 6000 years of Jesus' teachings or the basis of his teachings, which have become more popular now than when they first started 6000 years ago. So my question is: why shouldn't Jesus' teachings be able to last until the third millennium when the basis of his teachings have already lasted for 6000 years? In my opinion, I fully and sincerely believe that the teachings of Jesus Christ will survive into the third millennium. Now I will continue explaining why I think this, through the next 3 points. First, Jesus at 12 years old was able to amaze all the teachers of the Scriptures with his perfect biblical knowledge and all those who heard him speak. This is according to Luke 2:46-47: "Three days later they finally discovered him. He was in the temple, sitting among the teachers of religion, discussing profound questions with them. And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers." If the knowledge of Jesus was able to amaze learned men then, how much more could his teachings inspire us today in this changing and difficult time? The Bible is what inspires us today even though it was written many years before. It applies to the heart and human experiences today as much as it did nearly 2,000 years ago. And saying that, we have many problems today ranging from economic relationships to violence to an even greater extent than we did in the beginning of man. The Bible was written specifically for every generation after Jesus Christ, including us. Jesus' teachings and experiences were recorded for the purpose of reading and applying them to our lives. Poets of every age have been inspired by the basic teachings of Jesus and have taken inspiration from the pros of David and many others contained in the Bible. For the... middle of paper... book o If history were to fail in the millennium, the book of Jesus and his teachings would be the last to disappear. JR Tolkien, perhaps. James Bond, yes. But the story and teachings of a revolutionary hero, never! Now, in conclusion of my argument on the survival of the teachings of Jesus Christ into the third millennium, I would like to quote the 1913 author Philip Schaff. "Jesus of Nazareth, without money and weapons, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Muhammad and Napoleon; without science and culture he illuminated human and divine things more than all the philosophers and scholars put together, without the eloquence of school, he spoke words of life such as were never spoken, nor since, and produced effects that go beyond the reach of an orator or a poet. Without writing a single line, he has set in motion more pens and provided themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, works of art, learned volumes and sweet songs of praise than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times. Born in a manger and crucified as a malefactor, he now controls the destinies of the civilized world and rules a spiritual empire that encompasses a third of the globe's inhabitants.."
