The pesticides used by industrial farmers usually kill all the nutrients in the soil so much so that the soil cannot adequately produce the same amount of produce as before, resulting in the clearing of new land for future harvests. Every time land is cleared for industrial agricultural purposes, habitats are destroyed and soil nutrients are eliminated. Alternatively, organic farming is the equivalent of reforestation. Organic farms provide excellent habitat for many insects and other organisms, thus increasing biodiversity in the environment. If you've ever walked within fifty feet of an organic farm, you may remember the pungent smell of manure. Although the smell is not so pleasant to human senses, manure is used as a natural fertilizer for growing fruits and vegetables, thereby eliminating chemical fertilizers and their health
