Mother TeresaI chose Mother Teresa for my famous person paper, the reasons are quite humble. It is well known that here in the United States we give so much for granite that we are never satisfied with what we have or have been given. Furthermore, our success is measured by how much money and assets we have. This brings me to Mother Teresa, born “Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu” on August 27, 1910 in the Macedonian city of Skopje. To a family of middle class entrepreneurs. Her parents baptized Agnes as a Christian. She was the youngest of the three. There were two other siblings, the older sister Aga, her older brother Lazar, he was two years old.” () Here the family was very religious and attended church many times a week, his father was extremely involved in the local church and city politics as a staunch supporter of Albanian independence. (Agnes) Mother Teresa attended a convent school for young children, as well as attending a state school for teenagers between the ages of 11 and 16 or 18. As a young woman, Mother Teresa sang in the local Sacred Heart choir. She also made a pilgrimage to the chapel of Our Lady of Letnice on top of the Black Mountain in Skopje, during this trip (Agnes) Mother Teresa only at the tender age of 12 felt a passion for religious life. This is where I believe he knew his destiny, the destiny of dedicating his life to the church, to God, and to destitute people. He would go on to encourage many people. At an early age (Agnes) Mother Teresa was introduced to sharing, by her parents, who under no circumstances would ever turn away someone in need. At the age of 8, Agnes' life would change forever. Grief was brought upon the family, his father had died. There would have been some suffering, but its moth... middle of paper... truth, which pushed Mother Teresa to begin expanding internationally. At the time of her death in 1997, the Missionaries of Charity numbered over 4,000, as well as thousands of other lay volunteers, with 610 foundations in 123 countries on all seven continents. The Decree of Praise was just the beginning, as Mother Teresa received various honors for her tireless and effective charity. She was awarded the Jewel of India, the highest honor given to Indian civilians, as well as the Gold Medal of the Soviet Peace Committee of the now defunct Soviet Union. And in 1979, Mother Teresa won her highest honor when she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her work "in bringing help to suffering humanity." Throughout her life she became known as Mother Teresa. I think the following poem that she wrote, will give you an idea of what kind of thinker she was.
