Kevin Wieser- Leadership Philosophy- Leadership Fundamentals- August 28, 2013Early this quarter we were informed that we would be required to define and describe our leadership philosophy by the end of August. I thought to myself that there are two types of leaders: good ones and bad ones. Since today is the last day of the Foundations of Leadership class, I'm proud to say that my perspective has definitely changed and there are definitely many different types of leaders that I originally thought. During this short presentation I would like to outline my beliefs and thoughts regarding leadership and describe what I have learned and the benefits of taking this course by describing my philosophy. I found an excellent leadership paradigm online that shows how to evaluate and define my leadership philosophy and where it lies by exploring and reflecting on personal values, assumptions, and beliefs regarding leadership. The first topic to evaluate is identifying my leadership values. The paradigm asks you to choose five core values that I would consider extremely important in leadership. VALUES List your values here Personal definition of values List your definition of these values here How do you imagine these values manifest in your leadership?1. CollaborationCollaboration is defined as the act of working together with one or more people to achieve something. It is extremely important for a leader to collaborate well within project teams/colleagues. Achieving a common goal is why we work as my goal is to improve environmental, safety and regulatory product compliance and harmonization through advanced leadership in process and project management. Collaboration… middle of the paper… they detach themselves from projects or work in general and their goal may never be achieved. My leadership philosophy is…• I believe leadership includes collaborating with others to act responsibly, kindly, fairly, and successfully complete a goal. • I enlist team members, treat them with respect and recognize their work well done. • I support my team members in times of difficulty and defeat by motivating them and helping them determine the next steps on their path to success. • I value and enforce integrity in the professional workplace. • I support the team leadership model and servant leadership as I believe it is important to work together as a team to achieve that common goal while helping new employees and colleagues grow and succeed.• I believe it is necessary to be ethical to be a successful and empowered leader. great impact in today's society.
