At the end of the film the team is overwhelmed by the daunting size of the gym where they will play the championship game. Norman decided to measure the field and tell his players that the field is exactly the same size as Hickory's. This puts players at ease and helps them focus on the game, not the size of the gym they're playing in. As stated before, Norman also focuses on the fundamentals of playing with this team, not just the game. At first the team was not bored with Norman's coaching style, which caused problems for the team. At the first training session there were two players who decided to quit immediately because they didn't agree with the training style. When the team lost the game with only four players on the field, Norman told the team that what he believes is the law of the team and that is that there is no arguing. Once the players decided they would buy into Norman's coaching style, the team was very strong
