Topic > Transformations in Call Of The Wild by Jack London

Then over the course of the novel Buck transforms into a wild dog after being thrown into the Klondike regions of Canada. While in nature Buck abandons morality to survive because in nature the strongest dogs command and there is no right or wrong. Through Buck's transformation, the differences between wilderness and civilization are highlighted. In civilization people respect the rules and act according to their moral opinions. However in nature the stronger man will survive while the weak will not prosper. Darwin's theory of the survival of the fittest has a strong relevance in the book because Buck, a young and strong dog, conquers and rules the older and weaker dogs.
