The short story provides two different perspectives of one person, which makes this story unique. One perspective comes from the husband when he is a human being and the other perspective comes from the husband when he is in the form of a parrot. The human perspective is blinded by jealousy and refuses to communicate. The parrot's perspective is more open to many of the things his wife does and why she does it. The parrot's perspective also differs from the human perspective because instead of refusing to communicate, the parrot is unable to communicate clearly due to its obvious flaws of being a parrot.
