Before I started writing this article, my first choice of topic was "Why Keep Your Teeth Healthy." After seeing The Passion of the Christ my mind changed completely. Now I've decided to write about why someone should go see The Passion of the Christ. There is the emotional aspect, the subtitles and the understanding of the torture of Jesus. I believe this film should be seen by everyone. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an Original Essay First of all, as far as emotions go, there are a lot of them in this movie. As I watched this, especially the beatings of Jesus, my whole heart went out to Him. There was no reason for the horrible beatings Jesus received on that terrible day, but in my opinion this movie definitely shows the right amount of violence. Someone doesn't have to be Christian, Catholic, or Jewish to appreciate this film or be moved by it. The entire theater was silent and many were crying too. The Passion of the Christ was so emotional that I even cried, which I don't normally do. Mary, Jesus' mother, Peter, the other disciples, and Jesus himself all showed so much love and feelings throughout the film that it felt very realistic. I feel like this movie was great, as well as very informative. A person should see this movie, not only because they like to see violence, but it shows all the emotions present during the last 12 hours of Jesus' life. Secondly, what I found extremely exhilarating in the movie was the language. How many times have you watched a movie about Jesus and it's in English? Every time, right? I can't count how many times I've watched a movie about Jesus and thought, "It would be so much better if it wasn't in English, considering Jesus didn't even speak English." What was different about The Passion of the Christ was that the entire dialogue was the language Jesus spoke, Aramaic. This really added a lot to the atmosphere and setting of the film. Having the full film in Aramaic obviously means there must be subtitles. You know how during some movies you can't pay attention and end up just sitting there losing interest? Well, not in this movie. Reading the subtitles makes you pay attention and stay interested throughout the movie. Having subtitles in The Passion of the Christ was really something that made the film, and not speaking in Aramaic would have emptied its meaning and purpose. Third, how much do you think you know about what happened to Jesus during His last 12 hours? Just the little they show in all the other films about Jesus is not enough to truly understand the torment and torture he went through. After seeing The Passion of the Christ, my understanding of all of this really increased. I know Mel Gibson, the director, wasn't there to know the exact truth, but it shows what was told in the four Gospels. This film is full of truth and portrays the actually known events of the last 12 hours before the death of Jesus. I think that pain and suffering were essential in The Passion of the Christ, otherwise the understanding of everything would not be the same at all. It would have been like any other movie, boring and repetitive. Therefore, Mel Gibson was smart enough to realize this and knew what he had to do; it was supposed to make Jesus' torture real and allow everyone to understand things much more easily. I think that to understand everything that Jesus experienced in His last hours, everyone should go and see The Passion of the Christ, because it is a wonderful film. It may be brutal in some places, gruesome in others, but overall, the compassion and truth this film represented was more!
