The Earth's global average temperature has increased by an astonishing 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880. This may not seem like a large increase, but it actually is. In fact, 14 of the warmest years on record have occurred in the last 15 years. So what is the cause of this global warming? The main cause of global warming is the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere. Some greenhouse gases consist of water vapor, CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. When all these gases are collected in the "lower environment", something like a blanket is created that makes it very easy for the sun's hot radiation on earth to limit their escape into space. The entire process is known as the greenhouse effect. These gases in Earth's atmosphere trap hot radiation and keep Earth's temperature rising. Say no to plagiarism. The level of greenhouse gases increases due to many human activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, burning trees, burning fossil fuels, electric lighting, refrigerator, stove, air conditioning and many other electric machines. These practices tend to release a rather high percentage of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, causing the earth's temperature to rise. This increasingly higher temperature on Earth causes Earth's water to evaporate into the atmosphere faster, resulting in more water vapor. The water vapor absorbs the heat again which in turn makes the Earth's atmosphere warmer. Global warming has changed and will continue to change many of Earth's natural processes, such as precipitation patterns, sea level rise, the length of seasons, and much more. Global warming is something powerful that actively affects all of our lives, so we must do what we can to stop it.
