I'm applying to the MS in Industrial Engineering program at the State University of New York at Buffalo. My decision comes only after a careful evaluation of the type of work I like and my aptitude for conducting research in the field of transport and logistics. More specifically, I am very passionate about topics such as transportation analytics, linear programming and their applications in the industry. Other areas that interest me are sustainable production and social network behavior analysis. In the future, I would like to continue my research in a university or join any reputed R&D department in an organization to implement what I will learn here. Despite the strangeness, my reluctance to give up, combined with hard work and persistence, has always helped me achieve good academic grades at every stage of my education. Say no to plagiarism. Get an original essay With a GPA of 93/100 in physics and mathematics, I placed fourth out of 85 students on my high school sophomore exam. Furthermore, I secured admission into Haldia Institute of Technology under Maulana Abul kalam Azad University of Technology in a highly competitive entrance exam among 70,000 students. The excellent Manufacturing Engineering degree program not only provided me with traditional concepts of mechanical engineering but also exposed me to various fields of industrial engineering. Among all the subjects, there were the courses and laboratory activities in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Production Planning and Control that fascinated me the most towards industrial engineering. I like the problem-solving aspects and breadth of this field. To further complement my knowledge in this area, my professor encouraged me to undertake a final year project on the role of supplier selections and evolutions in a traditional manufacturing organisation. With my group member, the classification performance of three multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) approaches is compared and analyzed based on the company's requirements and preferred strategies and then presented the future scope to arrive at optimal solutions to selection problems of suppliers. Finally, we found that all three methodologies are very powerful in nature and that for in-depth analysis, sensitivity analysis of input data needs to be performed in decision-making methods that may not be accurate enough. Even though my curriculum has only provided me with comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical aspects, I have taken additional steps to gain practical experience to enhance my concepts. My summer training at the Indian power transmission company Premium Transmission Ltd. in Calcutta gave me hands-on experience in resource optimization tools such as JIT (Just-in-Time). Later I joined Levram Life sciences Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, India's largest manufacturer of blood donation tubes as a manufacturing engineer. Here I have redesigned the floor layout to accommodate new machinery which allows for a 10% improvement in productivity. My seventh-semester courses in production planning and control help me implement this project. Also, my participation in a week-long automotive event organized by IIT, Kharagpur, helped me grow both personally and professionally. But then I realized that university study is essential to gain deeper insight and understanding
