Being able to construct media intelligently is crucial to becoming prosperous in my field. While you can never achieve “perfect media literacy,” you can improve your level of media literacy so that you become a wiser media user (Pavlik). As described by Emine Sur, Ünal Emre and Iseri Kamil: Media literacy requires the ability to realize that messages taken from the media are reconstructed in the media. An individual needs different skills, background knowledge and educational organization to be competent in media. To be media literate, we should be in touch with the media. The individual who is in contact with the media can begin to access information about the mass media. (Sur)As a communications major, I intend to know media literacy inside and out to the best of my ability. Media literacy is a great way for both the producer and the consumer to be on top of their game when it comes to producing or watching. Everyone should learn and recognize media literacy and what happens with the media, not just what they produce, but also how they produce it
