The benefits of military service have grown dramatically, the army offers so many good benefits that it is almost a crime not to take advantage of them. The military is an excellent career choice that offers its soldiers exceptional benefits and experiences. “Each branch of the military offers its own styles of housing and special locations” (Howell 144). “You do not have to be affiliated with a particular service to use lodging services” (Howell 144). “The Army offers a wide range of accommodations for travelers, regardless of which branch of service you are affiliated with, and you can fly for free to all of those destinations using a special travel benefit” (Howell 138). “With installations around the world and a benefit of 30 days of paid leave, the Army offers numerous opportunities to visit new regions and cultures” (“world”). “Another great benefit of military service is that you have many convenient and economical housing options” (Howell 144). So pretty much what I'm saying is that in the military anyone can travel anywhere they want. As long as one is enlisted, one can go anywhere and not pay a cent out of pocket. There are so many opportunities to live and experience the world, and it's all free. Plus, family members can join you while you're traveling or just simply changing base or getting a new duty station. Additionally, the Army allows paid time off for all expenses. Now let's talk about a big thing that everyone talks about when it comes to the military. That topic is pay. In all honesty, the pay is quite good, plus there are many different bonuses and benefits that many don't even know about. The Army grants special allowances for certain circumstances. Now here... half paper... enjoy all your benefits too, from education to insurance items. This in itself is an advantage. The military has countless benefits just to be happy. They pay for pretty much everything you do and if they don't pay 100% you can be compensated in some way because there are so many different plans. Your family members can use virtually everything available to spouses. I joined the military for the educational benefits because I knew I wouldn't get any scholarships and I knew the military got everything for free, so I should take advantage of the same benefits as so many others. I'm proud to say that although I'm part of something much bigger than myself, the military makes you twice as confident and proud of yourself. I am part of a force that only represents less than 1% of the United Nations. I am an American soldier.
