In the current ever-changing economic scenario, migration has developed many facets. Migration, combined with prostitution and human trafficking, is one of the effects of today's increasingly globalized economy, and world leaders brought human trafficking to global attention in the 1990s. In Europe, after the collapse of communism, an increase in organized crime and human trafficking (human trafficking) emerged in Eastern European countries, and the wealth disparity between European nations became evident. East and West were like parallel universes divided symbolically by the Berlin Wall and the economic divergence is something that these criminal networks took advantage of. People living in rural communities, living marginalized and in vulnerable positions feel the need to migrate to Western countries and find work with a better standard of living. Criminal networks have flourished in Albania due to its tumultuous past. The requirements that Albania must meet to join the EU have helped the country fight human trafficking, but there is still a long way to go. The EU enlargement process has developed through the different phases of enlargement. Candidate Member States are required to adopt a full version of the acquis communautaire, unlike older Member States which had more time to adapt and in some cases could opt out. Political stability has become an increasingly important factor to consider in recent enlargement rounds. Since 1994, after the end of communism, former Soviet countries have sought to link their economic futures with that of the EU. Communism had isolated them from the world and they decided to jump on the EU bandwagon, especially for its international market presence in today's globalized economy. In Europe, wealth is... in the center of the card... usually a country of destination, and the identification of victims is also crucial in border policing activities. Albania is on track towards possible EU membership. There are promising signs, but for Albania to join the EU, significant structural standards still need to be met. Future EU membership has helped Albania in its efforts to combat human trafficking. Albania is a Balkan nation with a tumultuous economic and political past. Albania is already considered a potential candidate country and is on track towards European integration. Albania has created institutions that seek to educate people about the dangers of human trafficking and improving cooperation with regional law enforcement agencies. Corruption, however, hinders Albanian efforts to effectively combat human trafficking, but as the country does not have the administrative capacity to do so, there is still a long way to go.
