However, we would like to conclude this contribution with a brief personal reflection on alternatives to capital punishment. It is clear that the clearest alternative presented is prison. This is true, since capital punishment should theoretically be applied to the most serious crimes. Therefore, the alternatives posed by criminal abolitionists, such as raising some civil crimes, are not possible for crimes that correspond to capital punishment. I believe that the abolition of capital punishment is necessary, but I do not believe that prison is a real alternative. The alternative in force in some countries is life imprisonment, with which they continue to have the same problems with the sanctioning capital, since it does not respect many of the rights of some subjects, nor does it reconcile
