The introduction of technology into human life has made it easier for man to do work faster and more efficiently in various companies and industries. In 1973, Motorola senior development engineer Martin Cooper invented the first portable cell phone. This technological breakthrough has made life extremely easy for businessmen, government agencies and parents to communicate and do business. College students, especially those in a relationship, could now communicate with each other directly without disturbing another's important call. Most scientific and technological discoveries have had positive and negative sides; However, the invention of smartphones by International Business Machines in 1992 has become one of the discoveries that amazed many people. Cell phones were invented to make calls, but with your smartphone you can make a phone call, sending messages and probably listening to the Pitch Perfect soundtrack in the background. Technology has brainwashed today's youth into surfing the web, forgetting what's important, spending quality time with people who love them, no matter what. Technology has given teenagers an extended umbilical cord that allows them to access social media in the blink of an eye. Despite the fact that technology is useful, “it has become frighteningly obvious that our technology has surpassed our humanity,” as Albert Einstein said. Technology has destroyed many relationships, be they parental or friendly, it has caused harm to teenagers through social media and it has proselytized teenagers, moving them away from their good manners and communication skills towards socially unacceptable behaviors, as Sherry has fully explained Turkle in his recent book Alone Together: Why We Expect. More from technology and less from others... middle of paper... they move away from their morals. In a way or two, social media and mobile technology have brought society together, but they threaten to drive it further apart in future generations. Works Cited Bully Project.
