The frustrating moments when I had to admit I didn't know the diagnosis created a passionate decision to further my education. In retrospect, I realize how my experience prepared me for this new chapter in residency training. In seeking a residency opportunity, I appreciate a program where the spirit of camaraderie is valued as well as personal excellence. I also desire a teaching atmosphere where residents are exposed to a wide range of diseases, are encouraged to take responsibility, and are committed to reaching their maximum potential. In turn, I will bring enthusiasm, passion for excellence and compassion to the program. In the future, I see myself teaching medical students/residents, becoming a humble and compassionate doctor who excels in clinical practice.
