One of history's most prolific political theorists is Karl Marx. As the founder of Marxism, which became closely associated with communism, his ideas have been implemented in some way in many governments today. Although liberal democracy was not all bad in Marx's view, he had other dreams of what government could achieve. Most of the problems encountered with liberal democracy were economic in nature. Instead of letting the rich rule over the poor, thinkers like Marx and Lenin preferred a communist approach to economic matters. Marx believed that human beings have the desire to be in a collective embroidered in their natural instincts. Marxist thinkers also stated that capitalism needs and requires the individual to fight against other individuals. This leads to consistent completion and allows a person to thrive in life.
