Topic > Living with suffering or death: euthanasia should be...

Euthanasia is a controversial issue due to the numerous ethical issues involved. While it may provide relief to suffering human beings, moral standards are strained for some because they are killing a human being. The evidence for why euthanasia should or should not be used comes from books on euthanasia, which have both a pro section and a con section on the book. The other information comes from euthanasia awareness websites. It could also be a cheap way to save families and the government money, because euthanasia is cheaper than long-term care. Therefore, euthanasia should be used because it could provide relief to the suffering person and his family. Every profession and workplace adheres to different ethical standards when it comes to their performance in the workplace. In the medical field, euthanasia is a very controversial topic. Some nurses would like euthanasia to become legal and others are afraid of giving the lethal drug to very sick patients because it could cause their death. Others believe that euthanasia is a good thing because it relieves suffering. (Van Bommel, 1992) Human beings should have the right to choose euthanasia as a solution to end their pain and suffering. Euthanasia has many definitions, which involve ending one's life based on different practices. Euthanasia, in general, is defined as the act or practice of ending the life of an individual suffering from a terminal disease or incurable condition, by lethal injection. (Euthanasia, n.d.) Involuntary euthanasia involves the patient's guardian making the final decision regarding his or her care. The patient is unable to make that decision because he is unconscious due to the disease... middle of paper... allows him to suffer and die with dignity.
