Physical Attractiveness Appearance matters much more than most people would like to admit. It follows us day by day and also helps us during the important interactions of life. The stereotype “What is beautiful is good” is perceived as attractive people do good things and are considered socially desirable. Physically attractive people receive more attention and are viewed more positively than unattractive people. It's hard to understand why this is exactly the case, though. Just because a person is more attractive to look at doesn't make them less interesting to talk to or more fun to hang out with. It all depends on how attractive people are perceived. People who are considered physically attractive have many more advantages in life than other people who are not. It's not always right but, unfortunately, it's the way we humans think and act every day. What is considered physically attractive? The question most people ask is: what is considered physically attractive? This is the question people can ask in life and never find the same answer twice. Everyone has a different perception of what is attractive. Women tend to be more attracted to men who display more masculinity and symmetry. Facial symmetry, including cheekbones, jaw width, and eye height and width, is considered favorable for women because it can show developmental stability and higher genetic quality (Danel & Powlowski, 2007). Men tend to be more attracted to women who have greater reproductive potential and a healthy body type. Men prefer to be with a woman who they not only find visually attractive, but who is also physically capable of having children. Women also tend to be more attracted to men with higher income and status while… middle of paper… self-esteem. Physically attractive people are treated very positively by most people and are viewed more positively than unattractive people. Attractiveness is described as being more warm, inviting, and even pleasant for other people to talk to and be around. Everyone's idea of what is attractive varies from person to person. There are traits and characteristics that are considered universally attractive that will be beneficial to the individual who possesses them. Attractiveness is something that will follow an individual throughout their life. Whether a child is considered attractive or unattractive, they will be characterized by this from an early age and will never be able to escape it. It's not something that most people particularly appreciate about our current societies, but it's not something that will ever go away.
