George HW Bush became the 41st president of the United States of America on January 20, 1989, succeeding Ronald Reagan. He promised Americans that there would be no new taxes. In his inaugural address he pledged in “a moment full of promise” to use American strength as “a force for good.” During his presidency he passed numerous bills such as the Clean Air Act, focused on reducing urban smog and curbing acid rain. The other act was the Disability Act, which made it illegal for employers and employees to discriminate against disabled people. During his presidency he had to face many difficult tests. One of his first hard tests was. Saddam Hussein invaded the city of Kuwait in August 1990. He succeeded in driving Saddam Hussein out of the oil-rich country. This is considered one of the greatest achievements during his presidential success. Although, the job of president is not an easy job, it requires a lot of skills and knowledge and you need to be able to understand what your people want and how you can help them. George HW Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts on June 12, 1924. Bush was born into a wealthy family. His parents were Prescott Sheldon Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush. His family moved to Greenwich, Connecticut, when he was a boy. The Bush family was wealthy and his parents raised their children modestly. Bush's father was an investment banker who later became a Republican senator from Connecticut, serving from 1952 to 1963. ("George Herbert Walker Bush pg, 20") As a teenager Bush attended Philips Academy Andover, a boarding school in Massachusetts . Bush was also very interested in sports. when he was at the academy he was captain of a baseball and soccer team. Bush graduated from high school in 1942. At the age of eighteen Bush became the average yo... paper... er, but during his presidency he accomplished many things for this country. He was able to pass the Clean Air Act and the Disability Act which provided free opportunities to disabled people as well. Bush faced many difficulties during his political career, he lost many elections and he also won many. One of his most memorable successes was the ouster of Saddam Hussein from Kuwait. During his election he promised Americans that there would be no new taxes. but he managed to keep his promise. Bush broke his promise and this caused him to lose the election to President Bill Clinton. Thesis Statement: Even though the job of president is not an easy job, it requires a lot of skills and knowledge, becoming president is not an easy job because if you can If you don't win the election you can't become president and you will have to win the election no matter what.
