DEATH OF THE SELLERINTRODUCTIONThe main character of the novel is Willy Loman who is facing the difficult situation of the play. First I will describe Willy Loman and Biff Loman, Willy's eldest son. Willy is the father of two sons Biff and Happy, he has a lot of potential and thinks that the purpose of life is to be well-liked and achieve material success. It failed to reach the American objective. And Biff, Willy's eldest son, is the character in the novel who shows real personal growth, he can't hold down a job. In the story of (Act 2, 105) I will discuss the merits of Biff's observation. The relationship between Biff and Willy is not good. Ever since Biff found out that his father Willy was cheating on his mother, he left home. In the comedy Death of a Salesman Willy Loman and Biff don't seem to like each other. Even though Willy loves his son Biff. When Biff was young, Willy was always there to support Biff in everything and was very proud of him. And he was the son to whom Willy had linked his dreams. According to the statement “I am not the leader of men, Willy, and neither are you. You were anything but a hard-working drummer who ended up in the ash bin like everyone else.” Biff's observation is that he sees his father as a failure, even though he works hard to achieve success. Willy has loved Biff, his eldest son, since he was at school. In his mind he thought Biff would become a successful man in life, but he didn't. Biff is a man who got the job but can't keep it. This makes Willy frustrated. But Biff tried to find himself. Here Biff compares himself and Willy. Willy is a hard worker trying to achieve an American dream, and when he watches Ben, his brother, achieving... middle of paper... an American dream. Due to the shortage of money and concern for his family which leads Willy to take his own life, he commits suicide out of love. His too much love for Biff leads him to take his own life. In history we have had that all these things happened because of the American dream and too much love. Conclusion In the play we see Willy Loman confusing his family because of his action which makes the whole family worry about him and keep wondering about the father of the family Willy Loman. His hallucination hasn't affected the family, it's just that the neighbors are worried about him too. Overall, everything that makes Willy seem crazy because of the American dream where everyone wants to achieve the American dream in this world. This didn't happen in America, it just happened on the African continent too due to colonial influence.
