With the constant advancements in technology, numerous achievements have been achieved. Advancements are classified according to the sector they fall into. There are several advancements that have been made and achieved in the entertainment industry. Among the results achieved is the development of video games and role-playing games (Prix Junior, 2006). The games developed were played electronically through the manipulation of images produced by a computer program on a display. While others have been developed in such a way that players take on the role of fictional characters undertaking adventures but basically in a computerized environment (Oracle, 2011). RPGs are believed to have been developed in the mid-1970s. This was started on mainframe computers as offshoots of early universities. It is believed that there were several aspects or activities that inspired role-playing games. Aspects or activities believed to have inspired the development of role-playing games include; pen and paper, tables and writings by authors among others (Prix Junior, 2006). Games were developed by different people with different backgrounds and origins. This has led to the development of culturally sensitive games. This then led to the development of both Japanese and Western role-playing games. Online games mostly have different themes and this is what makes the game acceptable to different communities (Prix Junior, 2006). In the online video game and role-playing game industry, Japanese games are considered the most successful compared to Western games. . In most cases a technological change can be viewed negatively if it does not consider the culture of the company or if it is assumed to be not culturally sensitive. Therefore, every culture always negotiates with technology by considering what it gives or takes.
