The tire changed the tractor industry. Tractors with rubber tires were more versatile and capable of doing more jobs than tractors with iron wheels could previously. They helped increase the fuel economy, torque and traction of the tractor. The tires made the tractor much easier to drive because they added some suspension to the tractor. The new tire reduced vibrations, extending the life of the machine. Tires quickly caught on in the tractor industry because they represented a major improvement for the tractor. “By 1933, rubber tires were available on some tractor models from major companies” (Hall).
