The dates may be disputed, however, generally, the range to be called a Millennial is from birth between 1980 and 2000. Being a Millennial is a sort of state of mind, where baby boomers are seen as narcissistic, selfish, lazy and obsessed with technology. This judgment can also be debated. In fact, Joel Stein and Tom Hawking both have a completely opposite opinion on this generation, even calling it "Me Me Me". Joel Stein wrote an article in Time Magazine about how he thought the generation born between 1982 and 1999 was absolutely unbearable because to him this generation is conceited and lazy. Tom Hawking then wrote a response to Stein's article. In his article, Hawking defends this millennial generation. First of all, Joel Stein in his Time Magazine article can be seen as wanting too much to please or prove his point. He directly begins his article within the first two paragraphs by saying that he has the facts for what he is about to claim. That his article won't just be an outburst because he has scientific proof that he's right. The generation of children born between 1982 and 1999 is lazy and presumptuous, the worst ever seen. It's as if the world, or the future, is doomed. Joel Stein goes on and on throughout his article saying that millennials are good for nothing except that they know a lot about social media and technology related things. This generation is arrogant and entitled, yet still kind. According to Stein, this generation is lost in the sense that it does not truly know its place in the world. Well, he knows his place a little too much, but the boundaries are erased. Indeed, “Even though they are arrogant about their place in the world, millennials are also… middle of paper… and. This generation may be lazy and self-centered. I feel lazy and feel like things will magically appear in my hands, like my future. I'm completely lost on what I want to do later in life. I am one of those people who have too much interest in celebrities knowing that they do anything except drugs and entertainment, yet I still think they are some kind of Gods. I would love to meet every single person featured in the famous selfie taken by Ellen Degeneres at this year's Oscars. However, I believe that we are not the worst generation, we are simply different. I wish I had lived in the early 70s and been a hippie in San Francisco fighting the Vietnam War. However, this generation was considered lazy and conceited even by the previous generation. No generation can be better than another that is simply different.
